Operating Engineer
An operating engineer, also known as a heavy equipment operator or construction equipment operator, is responsible for operating and maintaining heavy machinery and equipment on construction sites, or in our case the forest. Our operating engineers typically work with equipment such as dozers, excavators, timber pro, track carrier masticators, loaders, and other heavy machinery to move materials, dig trenches, transport materials, create fire breaks and perform other tasks related to construction or excavation.
Operating engineers are trained to operate different types of heavy equipment safely and efficiently, following specific guidelines and safety protocols to prevent accidents or damage to equipment. They may also be responsible for performing routine maintenance and inspections on equipment to ensure that it is in good working condition. Operating engineers work closely with construction crews, project managers, and other team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
